Yes, anyone can do yoga! We have all types in classes from beginners to advanced, from moms and dads to triathletes, from people recovering from an injury to senior citizens and high school students. Yogis come in all shapes and sizes.
For your first class at Melt we ask that you arrive 20 minutes prior to class to fill out paperwork and get familiar with the studio. Once you start coming regularly, it is imperative that you are always early for class. Latecomers are admitted at the teacher’s discretion.
The heat facilitates stretching and detoxifying, allowing you to work deeper and safer into the postures. It accelerates the flexibility process so you see results faster. The heat heals and helps prevent injuries. It also promotes sweating which flushes toxins from the body.
Wear the least amount of clothing you are comfortable in. Men usually wear a t-shirt and shorts, or no shirt at all. Women typically wear a sports bra, t-shirt or tank and shorts or capris.
You’ll beed to bring a yoga mat, a towel to cover the mat, and a large bottle of water. A small hand towel is optional. If you haven’t purchased a yoga mat, or forgot something, all items are available to rent at a nominal fee.
Yes, we have complete shower/changing facilities for men and women. If you forgot your towel you can rent one.
Please arrive for class at least 10 minutes early. First timers should come 20 minutes early.
Yoga classes are traditionally held in a quiet atmosphere. Please refrain from talking loudly in the yoga room.
Please turn your cell phone off upon entering the studio
Please remove your shoes before entering the yoga room.
Refrain from using perfume or heavily scented lotion before class.
After the last posture, please leave the room quietly, respecting the other students who are sill in a meditative spirit.
After class, please pick up the area around your mat and and throw out any used tissues.
